Social Scene 354
Bob Moss Writes;
We’ve had a busy summer of TRing and as I’ve not been able to get social scene reports done throughout the year I thought best to cover the year in a roundup of just some of the things we’ve been doing. The year started off early in February with our normal Breakfast meet at Poplars Nursery, although dry but chilly we had a great turnout. April, a number of our members visited the Avro Vulcan open day at Southend airport, this turned out to one of the coldest days we’ve had in April and being an Airport it’s pretty open and not much shelter from the elements, but for those that attended it was great to see such an Icon of the air being restored. May and the 20th anniversary of East Saxons at the Lawns, Rochford. What a difference in the weather, a gloriously sunny day, top down drive to the venue and a great celebration was had by all. June, the Inter-Club International at Malvern, again the weather was reasonable and the show was very well attended. Being the Inter-club meeting a number of other makes joined us, including MG, Morgan, Ford, Rover to name just a few, it was a good weekend and the opportunity to see other cars as well as TR’s. July, again a return to one of our faithful events of the year, Cressing Temple Barns Village Fair, always a good show, lot to see and do, live music and dancing, great selection of cars and lots of stalls for the ladies to visit. August, Saffron Walden car show on the Common, again the sun was out and around 18 cars turned out for a very relaxed day just wandering around looking at the cars on display, some taking a short walk into the town for a bit of retail therapy, a great day out. September, Picnic at Jan and Alan Savels farm, again another good turnout around 20 cars and all enjoying what has become an annual event a very relaxed time just sitting in the garden chatting and catching up with other members. The men wandering off to Alan’s workshop to see what's being restored and how far it’s come since our last picnic.
Looking forward to Christmas and next year when we have even more adventures in our TR’s.
