Glavon Group Tulip Run - 14th September 2025

The 'Lots of Lanes' Cotswold Tulip Tour delivered just what it said on the tin. Despite a forecast for significant rainfall in the afternoon which was to prove correct, eight cars including a TR3A, two TR4As, a TR5, TR6 and a TR7V8 plus two other modern cars assembled at Cirencester Services for the start.

The Tulip route was devised by Glavon's Russ Cooper and his long term former rally Navigator Oliver Tomlins and included a meticulously prepared route book. There were four 'Passage Controls' along the route, manned by two other rally friends, Chris Riley and Pete Raine.

The first leg of the route headed north via Duntisbourne and Kilkenny to the Old Prison Cafe at Northleach for coffee, where news was received that the TR6 had expired due to a major radiator leak and had to be trailered home!

The route then continued around Bourton an the Water, Guiting Power, Snowshill and Broadway Tower where it was noted that one of the TR4As was now absent.

The final destination was the cafe at Toddington Railway Station for an enjoyable debriefing and tea and scones!

Many thanks go to Russ and Oliver for organising such a superb event with help from their friends Chris and Pete who stood out in the rain to man the passage controls. Those who missed this event, missed an excellent event that took an enormous amount of effort and expertise to put together.
